Text utilities are small operations where exact characters matter

Text transformations often look simple, but encoding, whitespace, line endings, escaping and character order can change the meaning of the result. Developer-oriented operations such as Base64, URL encoding, JSON/YAML conversion and regular-expression replacement should therefore be checked against the intended downstream use.

When a transformation is reversible, keep the original input until you have confirmed the output. When it is destructive, such as removing markup or replacing text, copy the source first.
